While refrigeration systems make it possible to store and transport food, medicine, and other perishables, heating and air conditioning systems control the air temperature, humidity, and air quality in the home and workplace. Refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning technicians install, maintain, and repair such systems. Employment is projected to grow faster than average for refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning (RHAC) service technicians, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Program Objectives
The objective of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Certificate program is to prepare students with the knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, and safety skills needed for entry-level positions in the RHAC industry. Our curriculum includes discussions, lectures, and extensive hands-on lab experience with actual RHAC equipment. The program also offers students the ability to work with and train on various types of equipment, tools, and instrumentation typically used in the field.
Another benefit of the program is to prepare you for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) EPA Technician Certification Exam.†
